about

This album is based on the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam, a book of medieval Persian poetry translated to English from Farsi by Edward Fitzgerald, and popularized by Whitley Strokes. Readings of selected poems feature throughout the album. Tracks, 2, 5, and 7 are all pieces for string quintet and the sample library is from MuseScore. I would have preferred to have real musicians, however, this was impossible. Track 3 was created using several synthesizers manipulated by a sampler. Track 8 features a woodwind quartet (flute, oboe, clarinet, bass clarinet), and a synthesizer, the sound at the end is the woodwinds and synthesizer manipulated via a sampler. Track 9 is all sound from my saxophone, manipulated through a sampler. This album was an attempt to push my expressive and creative limits in several directions. Please excuse me if it is shit. Enjoy
